In our opinion, few registry offices can compare with Langtons in Hornchurch, Essex. As soon as you walk through the front door you can see and feel the magic. This is definitely not the generic, boring flatly decorated registry office many of us are familiar with. Steeped in history, this grade II listed building may just be the wedding venue of your dreams.
There are not just one, or even two ceremony rooms, there are actually four spaces to choose from when it comes to your wedding ceremony. Both the east room with its' blue decor and the west room with its' gold decor can accommodate 50 people for a wedding ceremony. They both have wonderful views across the gardens and lake.
The Orangery is perfect if you have your heart set on an outdoor vibe for your wedding and can seat up to 80 people. The final ceremony space is Langtons Hall itself which can hold up to 100 people and can also be used for your wedding reception allowing 80 seated guests.
Although Langtons itself does not have parking in general, (we believe there is a small amount of parking on site for evening receptions) there is a pay and display car park directly opposite the entrance. Bridal transport is allowed on site for dropping off at the main entrance.
The grounds of Langtons are nothing short of spectacular and make a wonderful place to visit for a family picnic or short stroll as they are open to the public. We recommend a visit, maybe on a sunny afternoon to see them for yourselves as no amount of photographs can truly do them justice.
When you visit, don't forget to stop by Liana's Tea Shop - the food is delicious and a warm, friendly welcome is always guaranteed. However, please note the tea shop is closed on Sundays & Mondays. If you are wanting to enjoy an afternoon tea, then booking is highly recommended especially during the busy summer months.
On selected days you can plan to have your full wedding at Langtons from bridal preparations right through to your reception.
The bridal suite upstairs in the luxury park suite for preparations is light and airy and a great space for you and your bridesmaids to get ready.
Your reception then takes place in Langtons Hall with the warmth of wooden panelling and space for 50 to sit down for your meal. Once your meal is over the party can begin with your first dance.
You can also opt for a twilight wedding with candles for that ultimate romantic ceremony.
