Gosfield Hall, Historic Essex Wedding Venue
Built in 1545, Gosfield Hall just outside Braintree in Essex, was often the temporary residence of Queen Elizabeth I. You only have to wander around the interiors to see it was built with royalty in mind. Leez Priory
Nestled in the Essex countryside is the Tudor Mansion known as Leez Priory which was founded as an Augustinian priory in about 1220 by Sir Ralph Gernon. In 1536 the priory was suppressed during Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries and the property was granted to Sir Richard Rich, one of the King’s key advisors. Layer Marney Tower
Layer Marney Tower is England's tallest Tudor Gatehouse and is situated in Essex with views over the River Blackwater and beyond. Built in the reign of Henry VIII by Lord Marney, another Henry, Layer Marney Tower is a statement house, that shows its original owner was rich, powerful and a friend of the King. One of the great features of this wedding venue is the church of St Mary the Virgin practically on the doorstep and an easy, short walk through the grounds to get to. So, if you have your heart set on a church wedding, but want an historic setting as well, this could very well be your dream venue.

Hedingham Castle
Hedingham Castle is known as Englands best preserved Norman keep and is over 900 years old. When you walk around the castle you are following in the footsteps of royalty like Henry VIII and Elizabeth I who are known to have stayed here. In some places the castle walls are 12 feet thick making it a lovely cool oasis for you and your wedding guests on a hot summers day. In the 18th century the gardens were landscaped and the red brick manor house was built. the gardens complete the jewel in the crown that is Hedingham Castle. Great Lodge, Bardfield
Great Lodge, originally called Great park started life in the 14th Century as an enclosed medieval deer park, until 200 years later it was given to Anne of Cleves as part of her settlement when her marriage with Henry VIII was annulled. This wedding venue is a wonderful blank canvas and dry hire venue, meaning you can let your imagination run wild, whether you want afternoon tea on the lawn or a fairground theme with stalls in the garden. Prested Hall
Prested Hall is a privately owned 15th century manor house which gives you eclusive use for your entire wedding day. With several licensed ceremony areas you are sure to find something to suit all tastes from a wonderful outdoor summer ceremony in the lakeside gazebo to an intimate wedding indoors.
