Our first and subsequent meetings with Dawn & Mark were all at their wedding venue Cressing Temple Barns. At the first meeting we found out that as they were part of The Exiles, a medieval martial arts school, their wedding was going to be medieval also.
We spent many happy meetings in the Barns Tea Room over drinks, and more often than not one of their scrumptious cakes. Definitely worth a visit just to enjoy the food and a walk round the barns and beautiful grounds.
It was a lovely, spring day for their wedding, with a slight chill in the air. Noel headed to Divas Hair Salon in Colchester for the start of bridal preparations with Dawn our bride and Mel her maid of honour..
After the hairdressers, it was off to Peakes House in Colchester for make-up and the dresses.
Meanwhile, Helen was at Cressing Temple with the guys, getting detail shots and the groom and groomsmens preparations.
The guests were arriving, many also in costume.
The bridal parties arrival heralded the start of the ceremony. Dawn entered on her sons arm, followed by her escort.
The ceremony was a beautiful mix of love and emotion.
The couple then emerged from the Wheat Barn to a guard of honour supplied by The Exiles, followed by the confetti tunnel.
The bouquet toss did not go quite as planned.......
So, take two.....
Drinks reception and photography gave everyone a chance to catch their breath and give the bride and groom some time alone together.
The hog roast supplied by Premier Crew followed by the special Italian cakes Dawn had found were melt in the mouth.
The bride changed outfits for the evening. Having bought two dresses before deciding on the main one, Dawn wanted to wear the other in the evening and surprise Mark for their first dance.
The wedding cake was beautiful and the cake cut proceeded like any other, until one of the guests reminded Mark he had a sword and should cut it properly !
We had an amazing day with Dawn, Mark and all their guests and thoroughly enjoyed sharing it with them.
